Reflection is one of those skills you are just supposed to magically gain throughout your PhD, but I think some candidates slip through the cracks, and others could develop a whole lot more if there was more *something/anything* invested in this sort of skill development.

What makes a natural self-reflector? Is it just in your personality, or how you were raised? And apart from making it assessable, how can we better develop reflective skills of students, including PhD candidates?
